Human Hair Extensions

What are Human Hair Extensions made of?

The most popular Hair Extension is Human Hair Extensions.

This is because the Hair Extensions are actually made of real hair. The hair used to make your hair extensions plays a huge part in the way your extensions look and feel, the hair used also can determine the life span of your extensions, therefore is of great importance.

There are many types of hair used to make Hair Extensions, so hair quality is a big factor.  If the hair is of poor quality it can cause all sorts of  issues,  such as dry brittle hair that ends up a matted mess.

So as they say, you get what you pay for, and this is no different when it comes to Human Hair Extensions.

What types of hair are used for Human Hair Extensions?

Human Hair Extensions

The biggest difference between quality Human Hair Extensions and cheaper ones,  is the high quality hair will still have all it’s cuticle perfectly aligned in the same direction.  If the cuticle scales are not facing the same direction, the hair will eventually become matted and tangled.

So even though the cheaper Hair Extensions look great at first, it can depend on what sort of life span you expect from your extensions.

European Hair

European Hair is great for Human Hair Extensions and usually comes from parts of southern Italy and Spain.  It is very durable and looks good, if properly cared for,  it can last up to a year, maybe longer depending on how often you wear your extensions.

Asian Hair

Human Hair ExtensionsAsian Hair  is very often used for Human Hair Extensions and is mainly made from chinese hair.
This type of hair is thicker than European Hair so to prepare this hair for use in hair extensions it must be made thinner and lighter.  This is done in an acid bath, therefore, because the hair has been through a chemical process it can effect the quality, so this type of hair is less expensive.

Indian Hair

Indian Hair has a very similar basic structure to European Hair. In general this hair type is of a very high quality resulting in European and Indian hair the most popular for Long Hair Extensions but also the most expensive.

If you are going to invest in Human Hair Extensions, make sure you do your homework and check with your Hairdresser about reputable brands.

Most importantly follow the care instructions as this will pro long the life of your extensions, because at the end of the day your Human Hair Extensions will need extra attention.

Enjoy!!
